F.A.Q.
A Splash of Color for Every Celebration
Depending on their face painting choice (full face or small cheek design), I can paint about 10–12 people in one hour.
I wash my sponges and brushes and change the rinsing water regularly. I use unscented baby wipes to clean the area that is going to be painted and to clean my hands after painting each person. Once the event is complete, all sponges and brushes are washed with hot water and soap. I do not use brush sanitizer, as it can cause a reaction to the skin if not cleaned properly. Rinsing cups are disposed of at the end of the event.
For safety reasons, I can’t paint anyone with skin conditions such as eczema or anyone who has a contagious illness. For children under the age of 3, due to their skin sensitivity, I will need the parents’ permission prior to painting. I won’t paint any child who doesn’t want to be painted. Anyone with a runny nose, sneezing, or coughing, I unfortunately cannot paint their face to prevent others from getting sick. However, I can paint their arm, hand, or leg.
As this paint is designed to withstand sweat and last long, you’ll need hot water, soap, and a washcloth to gently wash the paint off. Please note that, like all makeup, darker colors may temporarily leave a bit of residue on your skin for a few hours after washing. Another option to remove this makeup is Wet Ones brand moist wipes.
Paint: I use Wolfe Face Art & FX, which is a safe, non-toxic, water-based face painting makeup. Unlike grease makeup, Wolfe face paint makeup is less likely to smear or rub off, is comfortable to wear, and cleans up easily with soap and water. It dries quickly and holds detail and color longer, even under sweat. However, like all water-based makeup, it is not waterproof. Like all makeup, darker colors may temporarily leave a bit of residue on your skin for a few hours after washing.
Brushes: I use Adi’s Art Pro Paint Brushes, which feature imported non-shed nylon bristles of outstanding quality from Japan, renowned for producing the best nylon bristles in the world. They are made from rust-resistant aluminum, ensuring they won’t rust and are completely toxin and odor-free.
Sponges: I use Paint Pal Petal sponges, specifically designed for eye designs and applying base coats. These sponges are durable and soft on the skin, made of sturdy foam and cut to the perfect shape for face painting.
I have a neat and tidy setup, including a wide range of colors I may need. It takes me about 10 minutes to set up on my face paint table with my chair. I have everything organized on a table I bring along and use a tall chair to elevate individuals while I’m face painting.
